Description

Maktos stand at average human height(5-6 feet), looking remarkably like bald, yellow-greenish apes standing on their hind feet. They are bipedal, and their upper limbs have evolved over time into large claws, lacking fingers. These were replaced entirely by pointed talons. Maktos are found only on the supercontinent of Magrathea, and for good reason. They are vicious, beast-like hunters, roving in packs and bearing no semblance to humanity aside from (occasional) stretched breeches over their muscular frames. A Maktos moving on its own is rarely seen, as lone hunters are easily dispatched. Packs are mostly females, with 1-2 males protected in the center. They can inflict heavy damage with claw attacks, their teeth not being positioned correctly or sharp enough to open wounds. A male Maktos should be approached with extreme caution;their claws contain an almost-viral poison that can kill before any help is available. A Maktos claw can fetch as much as 2,000 Tret on the black markets, and even more at the local Assasin's Guild.
