Magic

Magic is a force permeating through the Damascan world, shaping its land and people through its natural way, and the way some may choose to wield it.

What it is, there are as many theories as there are cultures. To the warrior treated by a priest, it can be divine; to the soldier who witnesses it engulf their comrades, it can be evil conjured by worshipers of devils; and during a Damascan subset, it can feel as natural as the seasons.

The three kingdoms of Damasca who are known for their aptitude in its function are Delthia, Keldor, and Alkemia. To the Delthians, magic is deeply rooted in religious ceremony and philosophy. Keldor believes it is a force of nature to be tamed, created from the earth. To Alkemia, magic has no whim; it is to be studied like a science, a branch of physics. Other cultures are more wary, and even openly look down upon it as the medium of evil men. But many are receptive of its power, and few can fault an honest Delthian priest amongst a battlefield of wounded men.
