Description
The Emerald Hawk looks very similar to its cousin, the Common Hawk, but its unique size and colouring set it apart. The Emerald Hawk is said to be about 5-7' in length and reports of its colourings can vary, though most common is a white under belly, legs and lower section of the head, and a green crest that extends from the beak at about eyelevel and spreads across the back down to the tail and across the top of the wings. The Emerald Hawk shows definite signs of advanced intelligence, estimated to be almost equal to that of a human mind, and due to their long life span they may in some capacities even surpass it. Its semi-magical abilities and powerful talons make the Emerald Hawk a powerful ally and a frightening enemy. It has been said that Keldarii rulers have, in the past, communicated with some of the dominant hawks in the species and called them to fight with the armies of Keldor. The Hawk has not been seen, save in rumour, for many generations. Thus, many historians speculate the Hawks either died out or never existed in the first place, and believe that the notion of anyone conversing with such a fanciful beast is nothing but Keldarii myth. Regardless of what has been said, the people of Keldor strongly believe the hawks are vessels of the god Linkson's will on Dachtura and say that Linkson himself leads the hawks in that very form.
Habitat
The last reported Keldarii Hawk sighting was in the mountain ranges north of the kingdom of Keldor, on Dachtura.
