Description
The cockatrice of legend was hatched from an egg that had been incubated beneath a toad. It looked like a scraggly-ass rooster, with feathers dropping like hell. It is a highly aggressive creature that attacks human on sight. The beak of a cockatrice can (partially) petrify if an adventurer is struck on bare flesh. This petrification can be healed by rubbing rue leaves on the affected body part. Eating the leaves works as well, but they taste bitter and generally make a person sick. The natural enemy of this unnatural monster is the weasel. Weasels are immune to the cockatrice's beak attack and attack fearlessly whenever they see one. They also know instinctively the healing properties of rue and exactly where to find it. This immunity and aggressiveness extends to giant weasels as well.
