Character Creation
Here is a mock-up of the Character Creation process and how it might work, as described in This thread.
Everything fades into view. Ignore the "next" button completely. Actually, this is extremely self-explainatory. Character creation music plays. The background should be scrolling over random terrain as the title's does. The kingdom crests should probably be aligned to be in a circle; When mouseovered, not only will it proceed to the state shown in the next image, but also fade in the kingdom name to the middle of the circle, eliminating some excess negative space. The next image is the meaty part:
Ignore the next button completely. When a kingdom is selected (mouseover/selected via keyboard/controller/etc), the text on the right fades out and the kingdom-specific text fades in. The kingdom graphic zooms forward, and the others become transparent, with a red, green, or steel-blue overlay denoting allied, enemy, and neutral respectively. There should also be semi-transparent lines/arrows of the same colours pointing to the enemy, allied, and neutral kingdoms. The background should crossfade to the (in this case Arnothian) capitol and pan around that. Click Next Step and as the interface fades out, Arnoth's flag should pan up to the top left corner and scale to "full" size.
Do not ignore the next button. Here we have the next page of the character creation interface. The scrollbar is ugly, I know. Anyway, here we have all the information a player could ever want about the kingdom. I lazily swiped the forum's table for the information at the top. Anyway, again, pretty self-explainatory. The background should still be on the Arnothian capitol. Arnoth theme plays.
Perhaps with step 3, the bottom window could be sized to about half and another window, displaying a world map with Arnothian areas of influence marked (with the capitol clearly marked).
