Description
Large, semi-intelligent creatures that resemble dragons, if smaller. Warm blooded. They have two stomachs: One holds food and whatever else the beast has eaten, the other is more of a bladder inflated with a gaseous substance that ignites on contact with oxygen. This is how they breathe those pretty fireworks, people. Basilisks are carnivores, hunting and attempting to eat anything smaller than they are. Scaled hides taken from a dead Basilisk can be sold or used by armorers to fashion a special type of hide armour that repels flames. They are generally irritable critters and will attack unprovoked if they think they can win. Battle tactics include an initial rush, claw rakes, and if a target gets close, a gout of flame that can quickly reduce even the mightiest of warriors to ash.
